The Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) creates and delivers co-curricular programs to bring all students together for the purpose of deepening and broadening awareness, knowledge and skill around identity, culture, and our interconnected fate.  As a unit within the Division of Student Affairs, OIE contributes to the academic mission of UNC Greensboro by collaborating with various campus and community partners to complement and advance institutional goals for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Gender and Sexuality Educators (GSEs) are a paid position within the Office of Intercultural Engagement, working with professional staff in the areas of LGBTQ+ Outreach and Advocacy.

Gender and Sexuality Educators (GSEs) also:

  1. Serve as a sounding board for OIE staff in planning and executing timely and poignant programming centered around gender and sexuality
  2. Assisting in the set-up, facilitation, break-down, and evaluation of OIE programming related to gender and sexuality
  3. Serving as facilitators for educational workshops and training around gender and sexuality, including Safe and Trans Zone
  4. Maintaining strong relationships with campus stakeholders, including other departments, student groups, and academic disciplines, to ensure a collaborative approach to programming
  5. Working alongside Confetti in designing, promoting, and implementing programming
  6. Staffing information tables at events on behalf of OIE
  7. Serving on panels sharing perspectives of queer-identified students at UNCG
