Safe Zone Training

Safe Zone

SafeZone creates a network of allies who promote a campus environment that is open and welcoming to all LGBTQ students.

In the current online working format as a result of COVID-19, we have taken our Safe Zone Training Online.

UNC Greensboro is proud to offer a three-part Safe Zone Training Program for both faculty/staff and various delivery options for students. Each workshop builds upon knowledge gained from the previous workshop. After completing these workshops, participants will receive a sticker as an outward display of their commitment to inclusion

Our new Safe and Trans Zone format is available via Canvas Course. You will need to log in to Canvas using your UNCG credentials, and use the link below to enroll in the course. If you have already completed Safe Zone 1.0 or 2.0, you can complete those quizzes to move on to Trans Zone.

You can also find supplementary assignments under the ‘Assignments’ tab on the left-hand sidebar.

In addition, we will be offering our faculty/staff Safe and Trans Zone Trainings in-person. You can find the days and times, and register, here:

Engaging with LGBTQ+ student groups and related programming helps reinforce the initial training, launch new ideas, discuss areas of concern, and work toward a more inclusive campus and community.

If you are looking to schedule a private Safe Zone Workshop, we are more than happy to accommodate these requests.

We are also able to accommodate and deliver these workshops online!
