Civil Rights Pilgrimage

 

UNC-Greensboro students have the opportunity to embark on a Civil Rights Pilgrimage over Fall Break (October 6 – October 9) to Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL & Memphis, TN. Participants will draw connections between activism from the 1950s-60s Civil Rights Movement and contemporary social movements, and explore opportunities to address positive social change in their respective communities.

TRIP LEADER INTEREST FORM: The Civil Rights Pilgrimage Committee is looking to identify four – eight Trip Leaders. Please note the Trip Leader Interest Form is due no later than 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 27, 2018. Selected Trip Leaders will be notified by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Trip Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist OIE with planning details and logistics of the trip

  • Recruit participants during the Fall 2018 semester (i.e. table at Fall Kickoff – Aug. 14, coordinate interest meetings, etc.)

  • Plan engaging, educational pre- and post-trip events for participants

  • Utilize leadership skills in coordinating small groups

  • Attend reflection and facilitation workshops during the Fall 2018 semester

  • Plan and facilitate reflections with small groups during trip
